Basic Shipping Protection is automatically included when you use our international shipping service.
There is no separate protection fee for this basic coverage.
If a shipment is confirmed as lost, seized by customs, or otherwise becomes permanently undeliverable under a covered shipping event, compensation will be handled as follows:

For shipments with a higher product value, customers can purchase optional Commercial Cargo Protection.

Commercial Cargo Protection is recommended for expensive products, commercial inventory and other shipments where the standard USD 6/kg compensation would not adequately reflect the value of the goods.

When Does Cargo Protection Apply?
Cargo protection is intended for confirmed shipping incidents such as:
- Confirmed cargo loss during the covered transportation process
- Confirmed customs seizure or detention that results in permanent non-delivery
- Other covered transportation incidents expressly confirmed under the applicable cargo protection terms
Temporary customs inspection, routine customs delays or ordinary transit delays do not automatically constitute a cargo loss.
A claim will be reviewed after the relevant carrier, customs process or logistics investigation provides sufficient confirmation of the incident.
How Commercial Cargo Protection Works
1. Declare the Product Value
Before shipment, provide the actual value of the goods being protected.
Supporting documents may include supplier invoices, purchase records or other reasonable proof of purchase value.
2. Calculate the Protection Fee
The commercial protection fee is:
Declared Product Value × 10%
3. Confirm Protection Before Shipping
Commercial Cargo Protection should be confirmed and paid before the shipment is dispatched internationally.
4. Shipment Is Transported
Your shipment proceeds through the agreed 1688DDP international shipping route.
5. Claim if a Covered Incident Occurs
If the shipment is confirmed lost or subject to a covered customs seizure resulting in permanent non-delivery, submit the required shipment and purchase information.
6. Compensation
For an approved Commercial Cargo Protection claim, compensation is based on the confirmed insured product value, up to 100% of that value.
Purchasing Service: 5-Day Warehouse Confirmation
Goods Purchased by 1688DDP
If you use our purchasing service, your products will first be delivered to our China warehouse.
After the goods arrive, customers should complete product confirmation within:

During this confirmation period, we can provide basic inspection results, quantity information, photos and videos so that you can review the received goods.

Our basic inspection is a visual and quantity verification service and is not a laboratory test, technical certification or comprehensive professional quality inspection.
Information Required for a Cargo Protection Claim
To help verify a claim, we may request reasonable supporting information such as:
- Shipment or order number
- Shipping records
- Product purchase invoice or payment record
- Declared or insured product value
- Package weight
- Product description
- Photos or videos where relevant
- Carrier or customs information relating to the incident
- Other documentation reasonably required to verify the loss
Compensation is calculated according to the protection option applicable to the shipment.
Important Conditions
Cargo Protection applies only to eligible and confirmed covered events.
Customers must provide accurate information about the goods, including product description, quantity and value.
False declarations, illegal or prohibited goods, fraudulent claims, or losses caused by inaccurate recipient information may affect eligibility for compensation.
Commercial Cargo Protection is calculated using the product value confirmed before international shipment.
Compensation is limited to the applicable protection terms and does not include expected profit, consequential loss or other indirect commercial losses unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Which Protection Should I Choose?
Choose Basic Shipping Protection If:
Your cargo is relatively low value and the included shipping-fee refund plus USD 6/kg compensation provides sufficient protection.
Choose Commercial Cargo Protection If:
Your shipment contains higher-value products and you want protection based on the actual insured product value rather than shipment weight.
